FILM MUSIC COLLECTION – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Film Music Collection is being released for the first time to general audiences on March 31, 2020. Featuring themes from the award winning composer’s early US and German film/TV scores, this cinematic collection of works ranges stylistically from suspense to action and drama. The compositions’ timeless harmonic and melodic instrumental structure form the album’s underlying motif, tying together the different compositional genres presented.

The featured track The Trial originates from a kafkaesque thriller, a German, Italian, and French coproduction. Steady, pulsating rhythms and percussion combined with a memorable melodic string theme send the listener on a fast paced journey through a spooky and mysterious backdrop.

Viele Bilder der Filmgeschichte haben sich dem Betrachter nahezu unbemerkt durch die ihnen unterlegte Musik eingeprägt, wurden dadurch zum Leben erweckt und mit Emotionen erfüllt – eingängige Melodien, Themen, Hintergründe von Erzählqualität. Rückt man solche Kompositionen dann einmal in die erste Reihe und hört sie losgelöst vom bildlichen Kontext in ihrer ganzen epischen Größe, offenbart sich, daß Filme zwar kaum ohne diese Musiken ihre ganze Wirkung entfalten könnten, umgekehrt aber die Musik durchaus ohne das begleitende Bild ihre Größe und ihr Sentiment zu zeigen im Stande ist.

Detached from hectic images Many images of film history have been imprinted on the viewer almost unnoticed by the music underneath them, brought to life and filled with emotions – catchy melodies, themes, backgrounds of narrative quality. If one then puts such compositions in the front row and listens to them in all their epic grandeur, detached from the pictorial context, it becomes apparent that films could hardly unfold their full effect without this music, but conversely, the music is quite capable of showing its greatness and sentiment without the accompanying image.
